Meet
The Nurse Practitioner

Tamara Henry, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC

Tamara Henry’s journey in the field of nursing reflects a deep commitment to patient care and a desire for continuous growth and learning. Her career began in 1999 when she earned her LPN license from the Vocational Education Extension Board of Nursing. Her passion for nursing led her to pursue an RN qualification in 2003 from Helene Fuld College of Nursing. Her eagerness to expand her nursing skills and help others was evident.

Devoted to providing comprehensive care, Tamara furthered her education by obtaining a Master of Science degree from Long Island University, also known as CW Post, in 2016. This allowed her to become a family nurse practitioner, enabling her to assess, diagnose, and plan treatment for her patients.

Throughout her career, Tamara gained valuable experience in various healthcare settings, including GYN outpatient clinics, correctional facilities, urgent care centers, school-based health, field nursing, and hospital-based roles in labor and delivery, postpartum, and antepartum care. Her diverse background in nursing gave her a unique perspective on patient needs.

Recognizing the crucial importance of mental health in patient well-being, Tamara expanded her expertise by earning a post-master’s certification in psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner from Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, NY. This additional qualification allowed her to address the mental health needs of her patients, furthering her holistic approach to healthcare.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Tamara’s love for people and her passion for providing compassionate care have been guiding principles throughout her nursing career. In her time, she enjoys traveling with her children, adding a well-rounded perspective to her life and work. Tamara Henry’s dedication and commitment to nursing make her a valuable asset in the healthcare field, where her patients benefit from her extensive knowledge, diverse experience, and genuine care.

Experience

Tamara has worked for over 20 years in Nursing. She has gained various experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner in ambulatory primary care, women’s health, adolescent/ Pediatric care, and Intensive care- gained during the COVID pandemic. With her vast experience and positions in various healthcare facilities, she has noticed the lack of prioritization in individualized patient care and the inclusion of patients in decision-making for their care. This has motivated her to open a private practice, which incorporates Telemedicine and concierge service to facilitate her passion and priority in providing attentive, individualized whole health care to her patients at their convenience.
